How long your credits last

2 min read
Quick answer
Bundle credits and your update window both run for three years from the day you buy. Order of Service Planner credits are separate and run for two years. Documents you have already generated are never affected — they stay in your account to view and download.

The part people worry about first

Your finished documents do not expire. Anything you have already generated stays in your account, and you can open it and download it whether or not any date has passed. No expiry hides, locks or removes a document you have generated. That is worth saying plainly, because it is the thing most people ask about.

What expiry affects is making new things.

Three different clocks

They are easy to mix up, so here they are separately.

1. Your bundle credits — three years

The two will credits and two Funeral Pre-Planner credits from your purchase run for three years from the day you bought. A credit is spent when you start a new will or a new Funeral Pre-Planner.

2. Your update window — the same three years

The update window is what lets you change your answers and generate documents. It runs alongside your credits, for the same three years.

When it closes, exactly two things stop:

  • starting a new edit, and
  • generating a new document.

Everything else carries on. When the window has closed the product tells you so directly, and says that everything you generated is still there to view and download, and that you can extend your window — look for our email about it, or start a Support request from your account.

3. Order of Service Planner credits — two years

If you bought the Order of Service Planner, that is a separate purchase with its own clock: those credits run for two years from the day you bought them, and they are only needed to start a new planning session. A session you have already finished stays openable and downloadable.

Extending your update window

If three years is not enough, the window can be extended. We send you an email as the date approaches with a link to do it. You can also ask from Support in your account and we will point you to it.

Checking where you stand
